Are you having trouble trying to figure out what you are going to eat on Friday night? We have some really great restaurants here in Flagstaff, but if you live here long enough you may find that it starts feeling like it’s hard to find something that strikes your fancy. What most people don’t know is that the Flagstaff Elks Lodge actually serves up a special dinner every Friday night.
This Friday night they will be serving an All You Can Eat Fish Fry. So, you ask why I called this article “Plundering Pete’s Fish Fry”? It’s because Pete Wolff will be cooking up his special blend of fried fish. Pete runs Gold Wolff Jewelers here in town. He is quite the character and if you’ve ever seen any of Pete’s custom jewelry you will know that he is really a creative sort of guy with a biting sense of humor. Now, Pete doesn’t actually cook every Friday night – the great guys at the Elks lodge actually volunteer and rotate crews – but the name has stuck as Pete gets everyone excited for what is known as being the best Fish Recipe in town. It’s all homemade and fresh food!

We’d like to encourage you to head on up to the Elks Lodge this Friday (and any Friday) for some good food, great community oriented people, and probably one of the best views in town. The Elks Lodge is at the very, very north end of San Francisco Street and looks right out at the San Francisco Peaks with unobstructed forest views. If you get there early enough, you can watch the sunset over the mountains while you eat a great meal. Sounds perfect to me…!
